Queensland fire crews were initially called to a grass fire off Waller Road in Browns Plains after residents reported smoke in the area.
A crime scene has been set up in the area spanning about 500 metres after the body was found at about 5.30am. "They located the deceased remains of a young lady who had been affected by fire," Queensland Police Detective Chris Knight said. "I'm not in a position at this stage to identify that individual because we still have investigative matters and it's simply not appropriate at this moment in time."
