Bluesfest has announced controversial indie band Sticky Fingers will be removed from this year's festival line-up in the wake of two popular artists boycotting the music event over the band's inclusion.

The announcement on Thursday follows two artists pulling out of the Bryon Bay music festival over the inclusion of controversial indie group.

“As a band and as human beings, we stand against misogyny, racism, transphobia and violence,” the band said in a statement on Twitter. The band added they were"deeply disappointed" to be cancelling their performance, but said"sometimes you need to be willing to make sacrifices to stand up for your values".
