Former Australian cricketer Michael Slater has taken aim at the prime minister claiming Mr Morrison has "blood on his hands" for abandoning Australians amid India's escalating crisis. Mr Slater was in India commentating for the Indian Premier League before he was prevented from returning home to Australia. The Australian newspaper reports the former batsman jetted to the Maldives where he will wait until he can legally return home.

It’s a pandemic! The India travel ban is a temporary measure. The government is acting to keep Australians in Australia safe. The threat of imprisonments and or fines is a deterrent, also to keep Australians in Australia safe.

Looking into travel abroad recently on compassionate grounds anyone that wants to leave the safety of Oz needs to acknowledge the risk they are taking with being able to return - they took that gamble and lost end of story

Quarantine is a Federal Government responsibility. People can criticise the States, the travellers, etc but Australian citizens must be able to come home safely. The buck stops with Morrison who should have sorted this out months ago.
Whilst ScoMo does nothing about anything unless his wife tells him to, Slater and all players who went to the IPL knowingly put themselves in that situation for financial reward. It’s a bit rich to now say it’s the PM’s fault that I’m doing it tough in the Maldives.

Mate I agreed its not right that you can't come back, there is a quarantine system that the states can't properly run. However you must admit it was a risk that you took to leave Aust. during a pandemic. There was a slight chance to come back that you didn't take.
