Black Lives Matter rally in Sydney ruled a prohibited public assembly

The court was told on Friday Mr Gibson had threatened to take the matter all the way to the High Court.

Organisers have nevertheless promised to risk arrest and gather outside Town Hall at noon on Tuesday as planned. Mr Gibson's lawyer had argued yelling"Black Lives Matter" in a protest was more important to a democratic society than going to a football match, and thus should also be accommodated in times of pandemic.

Residents in metropolitan Melbourne are subject to stay-at-home orders and can only leave home for essential work, study, exercise or care responsibilities. It is also mandatory to wear masks in public.

The answer is simple: these black people must stop doing things that will get them arrested in the first place, so they can then die outside of a prison cell.
