The enormous bill for a failed and “legally insufficient” government program is likely to blow out to much more than the $720 million announced.

On Friday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison fronted the media to tout a new era of political efficiency, announcing the permanent formation of National Cabinet after its success in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

But the bill for that failure will likely be much, much more, with a class action under way seeking damages and lost interest.program this morning. “There's a large repayment, there's litigation still on foot with respect to it.”Prime Minister Scott Morrison dodged the Robodebt disaster on Friday, sending out a press release about the bungle just minutes after holding a press conference.

And it was Mr Porter, in his previous capacity as social services minister, who ushered in the program. “There are other ways in which there may be compensation that may be acceptable. We'll discuss those with the litigants in the matter. But there's no position finalised on that yet.”

Federal government to repay $720 million in wrongly issued robodebtsAll so-called robodebts will be repaid to Australians from July, the federal government has announced. I am ok with that it had to many problems. But in saying that going by the amount of successful criminal charges outside of robodebt we know ppl are rorting. You would have to think a lot were rorting that are now getting their $ back? How does the tax payer get there $ back? is the minister who approved this resigning? This what happens when you rely upon AI (Artificial Intelligence) computer programs to do the work of real people. Big tech keep saying that AI is the next big thing. Its the next big load of vacuous marketing.

How about some freebies for me? I had to turn off the TV, the amount of virtue signalling by the leftist reporters at ABC over this news is cringeworthy And revive the 2000 odd people who took their lives over it? Yeah, this won’t cover the grief and loss of their families over this.
