At first glance it looks like the outside of any corner store — but this shop front hides an “extremely irresponsible” message, it’s been found.

In response to the complaint, Streets ice cream owner Unilever Australasia argued the shop advertising slogan had been a “puffery” statement similar to “Red Bull gives you wings”.

“Consumers will not reasonably interpret the advertisement that eating Paddle Pop, Magnum or Splice increases their level of happiness in a measurable way, or that it provides nutritional value that is beneficial to their health,” it said in response to the complaint, according to Stuff. But in the end the Advertising Standards Authority sided with the complainant, arguing that by connecting ice cream with happiness it could be detrimental to peoples’ health.

It makes me happy. Immensely so.

Seriously! WTF. Age of outrage strikes again exhausted

This decision is out of touch. I treat myself to maybe 4 or 5 ice creams per summer, and they each contribute to my happiness. So does warm sunshine on a cold spring morning. I’m ok with saying they both “make” me happy.

This world has gone bloody mad

Find me someone that ice cream makes them sad

maaaate that's a dairy.

Piss off , Ice cream does make you happy. Some need to get a life.

Welp, while shitbag socialist Ardern is 'power', this will be the least of NZs problems... Farting in NZ won't be allowed soon.

Ice-cream does make you happy. People should be able to make their own decisions without the fun police always telling them they can't.

But ice cream does make me happy

Here's a novel idea. How about you take some personal responsibility? Yes, if you eat a box of ice creams a day you will likely be unhealthy. If you have an ice cream as a treat, I'm sure you'll be fine. Talk about being a bloody snowflake...

Some people have nothing better to do than whinge and complain. For some of us it is a statement of fact....🍦🍨

Glory days for the big banks are now over, customers to benefit: reportAll four major banks have now announced a fall in earnings for the year. A new report from KPMG says there is no end in sight for the profit squeeze on the banks, with consumers set to benefit. And for the media too, they no longer get to set their agendas, and wow they do not like it at all 😪. I’ll believe it when I see it with my own eyes. I still pass a ridiculous amount of guys my own age driving out of bank building parking lots in their teslas, maseratis, ferraris .... paid from their bonus cheques. I wave to them all when I catch the bus home. Cash ban, negative interest rates, and ability to shut down all atm's and eftpos facilities means the glory days for banks are yet to come. Throw in cashless welfare card and your all set for complete control over everyone's money

'People forget how big that song was': Savage Garden added to official Aussie sound archiveThe famous Aussie artists, who produced bona-fide pop bangers, are added to the official Sounds of Australia archive. So when are you going to address the fact that you killed the Epstein story from three years ago? Linda Marigliano's unique timbre should also be kept for posterity. A pity she doesn't sing. Doris Day fans would understand. Olivia Newton-John is bloody useless singer.
