Activist and author Bettina Arndt has defended her Australia Day honour, saying the criticism she has received has been “extraordinary” and people on Twitter are attempting to "paint" her "in the worst possible light”. Ms Arndt was awarded an Australia Day honour for her social commentary on gender equity through advocacy for men.
Ms Arndt told Sky News she had a “long interview with a journalist who admitted they are doing a hit job on me and are trying to malign me by saying I am misrepresenting my qualifications”. “The way they will cheat and distort and do everything they can do discredit you is a bit disturbing. “I would like people to go to the source”.
