Ben Roberts-Smith has told a court that a Victoria Cross for his actions in Afghanistan in 2010 'put a target' on his back for other soldiers to undermine him.

Ben Roberts-Smith has told a court that a Victoria Cross for his actions in Afghanistan in 2010"put a target" on his back for other soldiers to undermine him.

In his second day in the witness box, Mr Roberts-Smith recounted details of the SAS action at the Battle of Tizak for which he was awarded the VC, Australia's highest military honour. The court was told the award of the VC to Mr Roberts-Smith changed the attitude of some fellow troopers towards him and became his"cross to bear".He said the award made him a"tall poppy" and"broadened" attacks on him from other soldiers who wanted to undermine him out of"pure spite".

Pathetic, looking for excuses for his crimes.

Oh dear another LNP playing the victim game. Do they have courses for it like empathy training

Failure in leadership on the part of Command I’d say. Why are they not doing a please explain?

Which veterans do we believe? Ben Roberts-Smith or the 21 SAS soldiers who say they are so appalled by his actions that they are willing to testify under oath that he is guilty of these alleged crimes.

He did what he was asked to do and everything was ok until he became a target because others did not achieve what he did. The so called teammates or backstabbing people are not there anymore. Media’s interest is profit and they will report on anything the public is interested.

SBS The defence world is definitely full of bus throwers, jealousy and bitterness. Ass kissers, double crossers and backstabbers. True story.

I am in awe of the size of this man’s ego

Pfft! Does he think he's the first-ever VC recipient?

All those calling him a murderer, You know what his job was right?

It’s everybody else... defence.

They're all jealous of me! I say as I allegedly put a bullet into a prisoner

something about all this reminds me of the GeorgePell scandal. ..'He couldn't have done it - he's such a good character, he's a Cardinal, he's a VC. sound familiar?

And Benny never undermined anyone within in his military reach .. right ? Naah he’s a hero

He’s making Christian Porter look like a rank amateur, isn’t he; that Hale School must be so proud of its Alumni 🤷‍♀️

That’s probably true. I would walk behind this man into battle. This man is a hero

That a pretty nasty thing to say about your fellow soldiers.

Nah, I think that was the war crimes dude

he should be in the liberal party

“...poor, poor, pitiful me...”
