Stockbroker Bell Potter Securities is lining up investors for cut-priced shares in skin and hair products company BWX Ltd.

BWX is understood to have called in long-time adviser Bell Potter to oversee a raising slated for early this week, with proceeds used to shore up the company’s financial position ahead of its June 30 balance date.

The rescue raising would be accompanied by a surprise profit downgrade, to be issued only 1½ months after BWX provided earnings guidance for the almost completed 2022 financial year and five weeks after an investor day. It would suggest trading dropped off materially in recent weeks. A fire-sale raising would cap a horror stretch for the former market darling, which owns consumer brands including Sukin, Go-To and Andalou Naturals, and e-commerce platforms.

Corruption watchdog spends almost $75k in legal battle against Jackie TradQueensland taxpayers fork out about $75,000 to fund the state's corruption watchdog's legal bill fighting court action brought by former deputy premier Jackie Trad. Obviously not enough yet. Justice has a price, most taxpayers would see the $75k as well spent if truth and transparency is the outcome. So the CCC fought legal action brought by Trad and they lost, so now they have to cover costs. Sounds like normal proceedings to me. I don't mean to cast an opinion on Trad herself and what she is accused of in saying that.

Ukrainian forces to withdraw from Sievierodonetsk as city is 'smashed to pieces'The last Ukrainian troops holding out in a desperate battle for the city of Sievierodonetsk are ordered to withdraw, but analysts say it is not a major strategic victory for Moscow. So where are these long-range weapons NATO are supposedly supplying? Still waiting for the big offensive push by Ukraine. Is it coming? I think it is 2014 : 4 months and the West is still dithering over sending decent weapons ; seems they want a protracted war . Sanctions ? Putin and his cronies are impervious .
