Government's promises 'take an eternity to actually' deliver | Sky News AustraliaLabor has urged the government to act quickly so coronavirus stimulus does not take “an eternity” to hit the ground as per its bushfire support package. \n\nQueensland Senator Murray Watt told Sky News while his party would work constructively with the government to implement the measures, they would have to “wait and see” how quickly they could be rolled out. \n\n“Unfortunately, one of the problems we have seen with the government so far around bushfire recovery is that they make announcements and they take an eternity to actually hit the ground,” he said. \n\n“The last thing we can afford at the moment as a nation is to see the kind of complacency that has unfortunately riddled some of the government response to other issues the country has faced.”\n\nLiberal Senator Gerard Rennick called Mr Watt’s claim “unfair”, saying 'I think we have been cautious and measured'. \n\n“We are totally committed to supporting the Australian economy,' he said. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia We will be quick to freeze wages, lower company tax and give handouts to the rich.
