People eligible for a COVID-19 jab should wait weeks before even trying to book, as general practitioners struggle to meet demand under Australia's faltering vaccination rollout, the peak doctors' body in Queensland says.

He said GPs had been reassured that CSL's Melbourne factory was poised to ramp up to production of six million weekly doses within a fortnight.

One registered nurse who works at various south-east Queensland hospitals — speaking to the ABC on condition of anonymity — said she and many of her colleagues were yet to receive vaccinations under 1a. "I got talking to a number of other nurses and it's surprising how many have not had their vaccinations yet."

The degree to which the Morrison government has fucked up the vaccine rollout has yet to be fully realised. We need a new leader as urgently as we need the vaccine.

I don't think it's a matter of 'being patient'. It's a matter of organisation and method. There should be central booking system and vaccination hubs. Not left to some GP clinics.

Why on earth did they mention it yesterday- caused chaos at GP’s everywhere?

Who's complaining? I'm happy to wait. If that's all I have to worry about, I'm doing just fine.

Rang GP covid vaccine clinic yesterday. They were unaware phase 1b had been publicised. No vaccine in clinic yet.Advised to ring back in 10 days.Another Morrison announcement, but not delivery of policy.

No worries. Take as long as you like. I suggest ten years. This being the average amount of time spent researching and testing a vaccine before it is released to the public.

The mass hysteria around the vaccination timetable by Australians is laughable. We are an island, with no real cases, our economy is booming. Privileged whinging.

The murdoch press are saying you can get in this week. Murdoch and the libs= stunning incompetence

Another classic Scumo announcement..the States carry the burden again, while he breaks an arm patting himself on the back.

What about flu vaccine? That is very important for many too MorrisonFail vaccine

We are in the middle of an economic and global health crisis and we are told to be patient? This is a disaster of their own making ScottMorrisonMP GregHuntMP

Weeks? Months, more likely.

My Dr told me yesterday (at a routine appointment), that I should wait for a txt from his reception, then immediately ring for an appointment. He said it is likely to be mid April. His practice will only be allocated 50 vaccines each week, much to his disgust.

I’ll wait. Lol. Not in a rush

Be patient for that thing you were just told to rush out and do. Gotcha.

Only people with jobs especially government jobs are saying ’Aust is in no rush with vaccine rollout we are in a good spot’. Well it’s not over if you are reliant on job keeper and your industry is broken. They should be saying ‘speaking for myself’

The wait is more likely to be months.

Another Morrison government stuff up. Stop enabling him

so have to open up right now and cut jobkeeper but the actual vaccine has to wait🤔

Exactly, I WOULD like to be patient of doctor.

About 52 weeks or more wait probs

So yesterday was just another announcement? COVID19Vaccine
