This was the second attack on the Emirati capital in a week and came after a hard-line Iranian news outlet’s front page warned the city to evacuate its towers.

The United Arab Emirates has intercepted two ballistic missiles targeting Abu Dhabi, its state-run news agency reported, in the latest attack to target the Emirati capital.

The Emirates “is ready and ready to deal with any threats and that it takes all necessary measures to protect the state from all attacks,” WAM quoted the UAE Defence Ministry as saying. A drone attack claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels targeting a key oil facility in Abu Dhabi killed three people on Monday, January 17, 2022, and sparked a fire at Abu Dhabi’s international airport. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the attack came a week after Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed an attack on the Emirati capital that killed three people and wounded six others.
