Prejudice persists in Britain but the country is not 'institutionally racist', according to a much-anticipated study by a government commission which triggered a fierce outcry from equality campaigners.

Prejudice persists in Britain but the country is not"institutionally racist", according to a much-anticipated study published Wednesday by a government commission which triggered a fierce outcry from equality campaigners.

Welcoming the report, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:"The entirety of government remains fully committed to building a fairer Britain and taking the action needed to address disparities wherever they exist." "Evidence of actual institutional racism? No, that wasn't there. We didn't find that," he told BBC radio.

But critics argued the commission had failed to account for various measures of racial inequality, from higher rates of school exclusions and imprisonment, to poverty and mortality rates for ethnic minorities. Critics have noted that Mr Sewell, years before writing the report, played down the existence of racism in British institutions such as the police. His appointment as chair provoked dismay among racial equality campaigners as well as a legal challenge.

Mr Johnson ordered the commission to probe"all aspects of inequality" after the anti-racism protests that rocked Britain last summer following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, as he was arrested by police in the United States. The issue took on new prominence this month when Prince Harry and his mixed-race wife Meghan alleged that an unnamed royal had asked them about their future baby's skin colour.

The rorts just don't stop.

Hopefully they will stop putting their nose in everyone else business

Also suggesting better police and community relationship is a solution to any problem is sub an outdated, fallacious argument

😱 I’m shocked. It’s just a narrative certain minorities are told or tell themselves that they “kept down” by evil whitey. Smart empowered people realise it’s not the case and they are in control of their own destiny. Black communities need to look at their culture.

The cognitive dissonance from that commission is mind-boggling

gasp no! this study is obviously racist otherwise it would have shown that everything is institutionally racist!

lols nice one centurian, nice one.
