7NEWS: Baby among passengers caught up in suspected capsicum spray attack on tram at Bourke Street Mall, Melbourne

Among those on board was a six-month-old baby girl and her mother, who told 7NEWS the sprayed substance “felt spicy”. “I just felt a spray down my hand and on my thigh and when I turned back the door was closing and someone was spraying,” Jackie He said.He said the incident left her feeling “scared” because she was worried about what could have happened to her baby.Fire Rescue Victoria crews tested the substance on board the tram.Paramedics were called to the incident, however no emergency treatment or transport was required.

Fire Rescue Victoria also attended, with crews testing the substance on board and determining that it was not harmful.“An investigation remains ongoing,” Victoria Police said.
