The British Embassy says it is 'concerned by the arrest of a British woman in Myanmar', while it is believed the couple are being sent to Insein prison, the notorious jail on the outskirts of the commercial capital of Yangon where many political prisoners are held.

A source with knowledge of the situation said she and her husband had been charged with immigration offences.They had been remanded in custody and were being sent to Insein prison, the notorious jail on the outskirts of the commercial capital of Yangon where many political prisoners were held., had been held in Insein prison before being sent to another jail in Naypyitaw, the capital.
