Hong Kong authorities yesterday announced restrictions in response to a new community outbreak of COVID-19, but a full lockdown is not yet in place. Restaurants will have to stop dine-in services, social gatherings are restricted to a maximum of two people instead of four, and mask wearing requirements have been extended.
Hong Kong has gone through a spike of coronavirus infections, with over 1000 new cases in the last two weeks.A elderly man in Hong Kong is carried on a stretcher by paramedics on to a minibus as residents are evacuated from a nursing home to a quarantine centre after multiple infections of the Covid-19.They are an extension of a previous ban on eating at restaurants after 6pm, as well as a mandatory wearing of masks on public transport.
The virus appeared to be under control in Hong Kong for months until July, when suddenly more and more cases of local infections started to appear.
