joxer Send them a cheque with a letter explaining how & where to add bank details. Australia Post still operates .... to a degree. 🤣

jallenha So is this the artificial surplus?

what a nice windfall for them

Probably represent the death of patients that obviously can't make a claim...

Can we expect a Labour government to change this. There are some good starting points in previous replies if they wanted to

Interesting that centrelink can access ATO records to chase debts, but Medicare can’t access ATO records to pay rebates. As for the system, it gets confusing when hospitals and specialists get involved, send receipts, no way for patients to tell what is rebatable.

One assumes Medibank has an addresses, don't the have cheques any more?

marcialangton I'm a medical receptionist and ask 'Does medicare have your bank details?' dozens of times a day. Some rich people don't care cause the rebate is 'too small' (I could use it!!), but SO MANY people of ALL ages don't know how the rebate system works, letalone about medicare online.

Privacy laws? This is a joke. It should be easier to give away our money.
