In a harrowing voice recording sent to her aunt in Australia, and heard by SBS News, Sahra Ahmed - who has been detained in the al-Hawl camp since march - said the body of a woman had just been found mutilated in the toilets.

Two Australian women trapped in a Syrian camp for relatives of Islamic State fighters have pleaded for the Australian government to help them before Syrian troops move in. "I'm so scared, I don't know how much longer I can do this for," "They just found a woman's body in the toilets, she was all mutilated and cut up." Sahra Ahmed is among more than 60 Australian women and children in the al-Hawl camp which holds about 70,000 wives and children of IS fighters.

They are expected to hand over management of the al-Hawl camp to troops loyal to the Assad regime which has shown no mercy to IS fighters. "Please don't let us fall into the hands of the [Syrian] regime. Everybody in the world knows the war crimes this guy does," Ms Dabboussy said. "We're asking just as humans, just as regretful people. If this happens that's it for us. That's it for my kids," Ms Dabboussy says in the recordings.

PeterDutton is lying that it would endanger any Australian in Syria to take these women back. Local area commanders said they would escort Aus women & kids to safety. On the map al-Hol camp is no where near the SafeZone only parts of which are under fire. KKeneally AlboMP

Does anyone care? Not our problem.

Let the muslim world look after her.

Did she show the same empathy to those who were mutilated by ISIS? Or is just harrowing to her now that she wants to cone back to Australia?

Can someone tell me, did we show this much empathy the nazis after ww2, or vietcong after the Vietnam war?

12 Hours. Four Syrian hospitals bombed. Evidence reveals one culprit: Russia. The Russian Air Force has repeatedly bombed hospitals in Syria in order to crush the last pockets of resistance to President Bashar Assad, according to an investigation by The New York Times. Any terrorist targets are fair game. Why would someone bomb hospitals? What strategy is achieved by doing this? I can't believe this story at all. It's pure propaganda This nonsense has been totally debunked and regurgitating NY Times propaganda pieces makes you complicit also. Well done SBS for losing all credibility
