Last year Australia exported 152,000 tonnes of table grapes, worth $622 million globally. China was the largest buyer of those Australian exports, purchasing about 40 per cent or 60,000 tonnes."It's abnormal," Mr Scott said, confirming urgent discussions between exporters, the Australian government and China were underway to find out why Australian grapes were suddenly being held up.

"This might be something new that the Chinese are imposing on fruit arrivals," Mr Scott said of the nucleic tests.
