The new race discrimination commissioner of Australia, Giridharan Sivaraman, dismisses allegations of anti-white racism, stating that it is not the significant issue of racism in the country. He emphasizes that the focus should be on structural and other forms of racism.

Allegations of anti-white racism – such as those levelled against Australia n footballer Sam Kerr – completely miss the point, says the country’s new race discrimination commissioner. “I do not think that anti-white racism , or reverse-racism, is the significant issue of racism that is actually happening,” says lawyer Giridharan Sivaraman, in his first interview since starting the role this month.
