Timothy Lane, a 52-year-old man from Australia, is set to be sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple child abuse material charges, including procuring a child for sex outside of Australia. Lane used his caravan as a base to communicate with young girls from Thailand and the Philippines, offering them money in exchange for sexual videos.

Timothy Lane emerged from his battered caravan in secluded NSW bushland to begin his journey to bustling Bangkok.

Lane faced a sentencing hearing at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court this week before Judge Nanette Williams, where the defence argued mental health issues contributed to the offending, but the prosecution argued this was not a reason to lessen his sentence. His phone was seized and he was charged with importing prohibited goods, being the abuse material, but was granted bail on the condition he own one mobile phone, give its number to police and not download any video-sharing applications. But just four days after his release on bail, Lane set up two separate phone numbers. Monitoring officers from NSW Police referred the matter to the Australian Federal Police for further investigation.

Lane made three payments via PayPal worth nearly $100 and the 24-year-old said she bought the 12-year-old new shoes.
