If he was a permnant resident why was he in India then?

An Australian permanent resident is not an Australian citizen. There would also be heaps over there living on their dual nationality basis there. I cannot expect all these 'Australians' doing are visa runs every 3 or so months to get their tourist visa's renewed.

They would be an Indian citizen as India doesn’t have dual nationality. Permanent residents are not citizens of Australia

Not a citizen

People I understand the government's decision to keep Australia safe. Whats annoying is some dumb dickheads commenting why did they go in first place and all that crap. There might have been an emergency or something more important that he had to risk his life.

Inflammatory reporting level expert.

It's covid, we are not idiots ,

'permanent resident' means obviously also an actual citizen of another country. this is not our problem.

Calls for nationwide lockdown in India amid warnings of 1m COVID deaths by AugustIndia continues to report new COVID-19 death and case records every other day, as its vaccination campaign falters and the central government resists a lockdown. Is it even possible to lock down a country like India? Lockdown only kills more people. I’m thinking the death toll is probably 4 times higher than reported. Modi.

Australian man dies after contracting COVID-19 in India, authorities confirmAn Australian permanent resident has died after contracting COVID-19 in India, as the pandemic continues to devastate the subcontinent. Seems there is at least one case in Lebanon that no one is reporting of a man who was desperately trying to return and could not too. Congratulations Scott The man is a permanent resident, not an Australian citizen. This is poor, factually incorrect agenda driven reporting.

It is bound to happen in a pandemic and if you have a compromised immune system it will happen anywhere India or Australia, the media needs to stop drumming this up. Don’t forget the 700 who died in Victoria in a short span of couple of weeks and the virus had not mutated so much And the media will just let that slide on by.....no tough questions for the government Australia is responsible.
