Former speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says to think “we as a people, our governments” sent men to fight for our principles in a foreign land, yet the same government is now attacking its own soldiers, “is very difficult to come to terms with”.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has moved to appoint a special investigator to probe allegations of Australian war crimes in Afghanistan as the government prepares for the public release of the Brereton report. New South Wales Justice Paul Brereton and the Inspector General of the Australian Defense Force have been examining claims since 2016 that elite troops killed unarmed Afghan men and children.

Why?Bronwyn does not make any sense again!

Gary_Hardgrave Our principles in a foreign land, like we've always done. No business being there.

“We as a people” did not send our soldiers to war, governments did. But unlike the LNP, there are rules to follow. I have an idea Bronwyn Bishop for your mates in the LNP, stop sending our soldiers to useless, illegal wars.

Bronwyn, I cannot come to terms with judging Australians who have gone to war. These people fight evil for our freedoms. We need to protect these men and women.

Makes sense when most politicians are controlled by the globalists.

Thats why the want covid to kill all our older people, so theres no one left to remember the real tough times!

Why we send soldiers in first place, so far away from Australia ? All for some political points ?

Brown Wynn looks like a gargoyle

Well said all this just to keep some do gooders happy

So, you’re defending the war crimes? Typical far-right thinking

Heard of 'the hague' or perhaps 'civilian'

What rubbish! Alleged War crimes cannot be excused.

I can't begin to imagine the horror of war & what it would do to your soul. The only people fit to judge these soldiers are those who have also lived the horror. We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us.

We must hold ours to a higher standard

Shooting unarmed men that are defenceless is not fighting. All seen the footage and soldiers are the ones that dobbed him in. Looked pretty damming to me.

Surely she's not condoning what they did 😳

If they are to fight for your principles then the military should be accountable to the same principles. Bronwyn if you find that concept “is very difficult to come to terms with” you have some serious ethic and other problems.

I am not sure what Bronwyn's idea is. Soldiers fight because they are ordered to. Sometimes state motives are potentially misguided but soldiers are public servants & must do the government bidding. Most do not kill; most are not killers. Few are murderers.

As usual, Boofhead Bronnie misses the point!

Bishop Uninterested in Accountability. That ... actually comes as no surprise.

It was good to hear a panel stick up for our troops, and Liz was so correct, we can't imagine the conditions our troops have to endure. We should stick up for our troops, not throw them under the bus when it seems convenient.

Gary_Hardgrave The Army is 100% unique, in that it trains its ppl, chiefly, in how to be experts in killing So I FLATLY do not think it is fair or logical that we can put such TRAINED men before [the common] Court of Law process😑 - That's insane!!!

What a vapid husk of a human Bishop is. We send our soldiers to fight for our principles but not uphold them?

So Bronwyn Bishop would prefer Australian soldiers to murder Afghans allegedly with complete impunity?

Socialist plot. Has to be.
