After moving from her home in Australia to Africa at the age of 22, Gemma Sisia decided to start a school in Tanzania with the mission of educating the nation’s smartest students who did not have the means to attend private school.

And 16 years later, the School of St Jude is thriving, with over 2000 students on academic scholarships from primary school to university, and 90 per cent of the funding coming from Australian donors.
