Henry faces uncertain future as world's largest polar habitat stares down financial uncertainty.

A polar bear born at Sea World on the Gold Coast faces an uncertain future as his new home, the leading conservation habitat in Canada, is strapped for cash.Canadian Polar Bear Habitat, the largest of its kind in the world, is $445,000 in deficit

Habitat's board is confident it can 'bridge the financial gap' but will not confirm if Henry will be re-locatedworld's largest polar bear habitat in Ontario in 2015But the facility outside the Town of Cochrane is now considering its own future and that of the bears. Its research is condsidered to be important in understanding the effects of global warming on polar regions.

"We are actively looking for corporate partners as well as private donors, and … both provincial and federal governments, would likely play a role in the funding formula," he said.The facility cares for five bears including Henry, and runs an education and research program across 28 hectares of sub-arctic forest.
