The Therapeutic Goods Administration says a second confirmed case of blood clotting in an AstraZeneca recipient is similar to the clotting events seen in Europe and the United Kingdom.

The likelihood of developing the rare condition after being vaccinated is one in every 350,000 patients. TGA boss Professor John Skerritt pointed to the number of cases seen in the UK - which is about one in 250,000 – saying Australia is in a better position.

“That’s [clotting] an extremely… remote and unlikely event, it’s a very rare finding,” he said on Tuesday. “As I’ve said before, your chances of winning the lotto are much, much, much, much higher.” Australia’s medical regulator confirmed a second blood clotting incident in a West Australian woman in her 40s - who remains in ICU in a stable condition.

Sounds like the start of a pandemic to me. Better take the same actions we did when this flu appeared and shut everything down until we have more information.

UK statistics show Pfizer produces just as many clots too..

Still ausgov isn't considering sputnikvaccine as an alternative. Even Germany is considering getting it from Russia.

'Not fair' to expect same commitment to energy targets as US and UK | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says the Canberra Press Gallery demanding Australia commit to the same energy targets as those of the UK and America is unfair given Australia is one of the lowest emitters worldwide.\n\n'You can't compare the United States and the UK with Australia - we are one of the lowest emitters - 1.5 per cent of emissions worldwide,' he said.\n\n'The United States are one of the top three emitters in the world they have to cut back on carbon dioxide emission - if of course that is the way save the planet.\n\n'And as for Boris - 50 per cent of his power is sourced from natural gas and also nuclear - they are so far down the track it's not funny they can make big promises.\n\n'The comparisons are not fair and as Alan Finkle said on Sky News today - Australia per capita is doing extremely well when it comes to cutting back on emissions.' Reply to Calvin CY Something very dramatic would need to happen, cast your memory back to the last 2 targets. Aust was one of the very few, and I mean very few to meet their targets. If Australia were to stop carbon emissions totally, there would be no discernable difference This is some serious lack of understanding. Back to the footy field you go boofhead Another lie, per capita we are one of the biggest emitters in the world. What happens to all of the coal and gas we export?
