Australia to block visa for partners if they don't speak fluent English

Australians who fall in love with non-English speaking foreigners will be barred from bringing their partners into the country to be married if they do not speak English.

My grandmother came here with no English. She has always been ashamed of her language skills. Some sort of middle road approach where cheap or free English lessons were provided on a pathway to permanent visas would be better

Spouses from poorer backgrounds don't speak English I've travelled to Ethiopia 5 times and most people speak English very well. I lived in Switzerland for a decade and most didn't speak very good English at all. Another pathetic leftist loser article from The Woke paper.

Its a reasonable request. Helps prevent ghettoisation, reduces burden on government resourses. If people are serious about living in Australia, they will learn rudimentary English before settling there.
