The Albanese Government has spruiked its climate credentials after revealing current projections show Australia will reduce its carbon emissions by 40 per cent by 2030.

The Energy and Climate Change Minister gave the first annual Climate Change Statement in Parliament on Thursday after passing its landmark legislation earlier in the year.

The first annual Climate Change Statement revealed Australia was on track to reduce its carbon emissions by 40 per cent by 2030 on 2005 levels. People are missing the point. Concidering Australia has not one iota of polluting carbon, nothing, gaining 40% of nothing should not be hard to achieve. Ok, in the time it has taken to write this, AUSTRALIA just reached the target. Now, build more Coal Power Stations.

UN lapdog

We are lead by fools, we are already a net zero country with our massive land mass and tree over for only 25 million people and no real heavy industry…go figure

go Albo. we won't be able to operate our light switches tho, or thefridge, or the cooker

So what.. won't make any difference to world carbon. The Chinese & Europeans , Americans , indians etc will continue to pour out carbon. Good for virtue signaling though.

Cant stop laughing

We won’t make it 20%

Carbon emisions that already have ZERO effect on the climate. Is China cutting coal? Cheap power = cheap manufacturing = increased GDP

Does that correspond to 40% having their electricity cut off due to non payment of bills?

I call BS!

The “experts” told us it was too late. So why bother?

And achieve precisely zero

What are Germany doing

Planet saved. Let's move on then

So we will be even MORE net negative!!! China will be pleased

Yet it won't make one bit of difference to the Earth's climate, but it will make Australians poorer.

Australia could reach net zero by tomorrow if airbusalbo ceased all his travel and stopped spewing Co2 emissions.

I am going to shit my pants laughing when oxygen levels start to drop due to a massive reduction, worldwide of CO2. I will literally die laughing from suffocation, like everyone else. It's not true though, its about moving money.

This is a good reason for .AustralianLabor AlboMP Bowenchris to stop any new coal or gas projects and end deforestation in Australia. There is a mandate for this with the last election.

Not enough

Better stock up on candles 🕯

Good boy Albo keep following the script

That will happen when all Labor politicians stop farting out fake news.

We have not. All we have done is export our emissions to the Chinese slave state which doesn't care about the environment at all. Ignorant Australians believe we are helping the environment when the opposite is true

Fairytale

All in less than 6 months. Nothing to do with the previous government! Really!

Like the zero covid policy of China...lol

Albanese government requests states impose coal price capsThe federal government is facing a stand-off with the states over energy price caps as it tries to use a legal loophole to avoid paying compensation to coal producers. Sky News Political Reporter Joel Philp says it seems the government could avoid paying billions of dollars in compensation to coal producers for imposing price caps by asking the states to do it themselves. 'The Australian is reporting that the New South Wales and Queensland governments, that the request has been made of them,' he said. He is already on the way out So, after a couple of weeks working on the problem, the new Prime Ministers solution is to hand the problem to someone else? Seriously How about he stay in the country and focus on the real problems The muppets are officially in charge. When this blows up, as it must, ppl may yet realise Labor has no idea what it’s doing.
