Aussies have jumped back into the new-car market with a vengeance after COVID and some surprising models are on the top of shopping lists.

Australians bought 100,005 vehicles last month, about 19,000 more than the same month last year, when much of the country was plunged into COVID-19 lockdown. The result was the best March since 2018.

A global shortage of semi-conductors for onboard computers has choked supply lines for some brands, leaving customers waiting months for their cars to be delivered. The MG ZS is now the country’s favourite small SUV and its MG3 small hatch outsells its nearest rival the Toyota Yaris two-to-one.

Australia to establish new federal natural disaster agencyMore than half a billion dollars will be given to a new agency that will oversee national responses to major natural disasters and will help disaster-proof communities. To do what? Soak up some tax dollars, do stuff all and be chaired by an ex LNP pollie? Today, after they wound up the National Covid-19 Commission & all those secretive appointments mostly from the corporate sector - they had to create another vehicle for *another $500 million for Liberal party donors. Where can we sign up? 😂😂😂 First task: get rid of Scotty from Marketing

Federal government creates new 'recovery and resilience' agency to manage natural disastersThe federal budget next week will include $600 million for a National Recovery and Resilience Agency to support local communities hit by major disasters. So here's the question. Do we not have that capability already? And if we do isn't this then just another administrative bottomless pit designed to suck up money? Such a considered, brilliant and sustainable approach. Equivalent of “Let’s stick a finger in the dike” in my opinion just more rorts doubt much money will reach those that need it just like the bushfire money this money will disappear SBS do some real reporting not just post LNP propaganda ask questions maybe but that's not gunna happen is it 🤣
