While authorities believe a link between the man's blood clotting and the vaccine is likely, they've again emphasised the risk of serious disease and death from COVID-19 is 'far greater'.

, likely linked to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, will not affect its rollout to Australians.

However, Professor Kidd again emphasised that the risk of serious disease and death from COVID-19 among the mostly unvaccinated Australian population was"far greater". "And it is likely that the case reported yesterday is related to the vaccine. This would be consistent with international experience."Overseas, British regulators say they have identified 30 cases of rare blood clot events after the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, 25 more than the agency previously reported.

The MHRA, European Medicines Agency and the World Health Organisation have all reiterated that benefits of the vaccine in the prevention of COVID-19 far outweigh any possible risk of blood clots. "For the umpteenth time in this pandemic, he's going to have to be bailed out by state governments," federal opposition health spokesman Mark Butler said.

SBS I don’t care WHAT the government authorities say. I want the same vaccine ScottMorrisonMP had..... Pfizer, I’m not taking the AstraZenaca If it is so good why didn’t the PM wait his turn and have it instead of jumping the queue to get the Pfizer jab

SBS True... But in our now Covid free society, the risk of serious disease suddenly falls to literally nothing, as most States are absolutely Covid free. Of course outbreaks could occur, but its still a very very safe place to be in..

Fk that one. I'd rather have Sputnik V or find some boffin to sell me a dodgy vaccine passport 🤷‍♀️

Where are the numbers to back this up? Either way...

But worth noting pollies got the Pfizer one.

Is this the only case? I have heard (from a health worker) there are more that are assistance with AstraZeneca

How come this guy in his 40s got the jab? Existing extreme medical conditions?

𝐏𝐟𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 vaccine produces ‘𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞’ immune response, study finds

One case of clotting... Move on nothing to see here

Except, for covid19aus current risk of death for 55 is ~0, with zerocovid circulating & CFR lower for younger ppl to begin. 76% efficacy, so not fully protective from mild/mod covid, risk of long covid unknown post-vaccination. VIPIT may be 1 in 80-100K, w/CFR as high as 40%

Government should stop using astrazeneca for people under the age of 55 who have got a low risk of dying of covid , and those should get Pfizer that does not cause clotting. This will be inline with what Germany, Norway, Canada and other counties decided to do.

And the MSM wonder at why there is vax hesitancy. All have risks, all of them.

Can I have what ScottytheQueueJumper got ?

Sure but covid is very under control in this country we can afford to wait

Yes if you live In Europe, the UK, or the United States In Australia - today - the risk of life-threatening side effects in under 55s is just as great if you take the AstraZeneca vaccine. Pfizer, Moderna, Novavax don’t carry this risk ScottMorrisonMP

Is Australia the only country in the world where there is no choice for most people that they have to accept the Astra Zeneca vaccine or nothing? What other countries are in the same boat as Australia?

They can't lie bc facts speak for themselves.. they can only downplay the danger

Say that to the face of the person with serious side effect or the family of the person who dies or the court when common law breach is established. Playing with people’s health - a better option is KNOWN - there’sno legal escape GregHuntMP 7NewsAustralia 9NewsAUS 10NewsFirst

if they give me that vaccine i guess ill just take aspirin for a few weeks to thin the blood just incase

The Australian public wants the same vaccine that Morrison received

Dear ScottMorrisonMP & GregHuntMP I must disclose I own no shares in CSL and I have no monetary interest in which vaccines Australians get. My job and livelihood doesnt depend on supporting one vaccine over the other. Unlike others. Yours faithfully The People of Australia

I’ll take the Pfizer one thanks. I’ll demand to get that one or I’m not taking that rubbish

Most Australians willing to take a 'safe and effective' COVID-19 vaccine but hesitancy remains, report findsThe study by the Australian National University found concerns over vaccine hesitancy were heightened after updated medical advice over the AstraZeneca vaccine linked the jab to rare cases of blood clots. Plus those of us under 50 with disabilities, who had booked through gp. With the medical advice from Canberra, gp clinic cancelled my appointment. Now who knows when I will get the Pfizer vaccine and now back of the queue in effect for the vaccine Hesitancy for clots yes and for the fact that there isn't enough supply of any vaccine to make a real difference. Hesitancy because there is no choice of vaccine in Australia and Hesitancy because we don't trust our PM to make the right decision for us based on his past choices. Lesson learned. Now the government will be less likely to inform us of any complications from the vaccine 🙄🤦‍♂️
