It was reassuring to hear Treasurer Josh Frydenberg singing the praises of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan because Australia requires strong conservative leadership to clean up after the coronavirus, Sky News host Rowan Dean says. During an interview Mr Frydenberg said he looked to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and former US President Ronald Reagan for economic inspiration.

“Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan were two of the greatest political leaders of the last hundred years,” Mr Dean said. “And the unavoidable reality is that for our children’s sake alone, we are going to need a Thatcher or a Reagan in this country before too long to clean up the economic mess that Scott Morrison’s idiotic national cabinet has inflicted upon this country.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Yep. The guy who created the Rust Belt in the US. Let’s do what he did.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean The ACCC wants a register of Water Ownership. The LNP is opposed. Why the secrecy? Why can’t the public know who holds water rights?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean The koo koo of Aussie tv said what?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Just gonna leave this here. Reagan started the death of the middle and working class.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean And this is “news” why, exactly?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Wow... big call. She destroyed Britain’s manufacturing industry and the price was her policies led to mass unemployment. So... we need more unemployment? She started NHS Privatisation. So... we need to destroy Medicare? Que Josh and his plan for 70 year olds to keep working

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Thatcher & Reagan, they were powerhouses, Frydenberg a total lightweight, and shouldn't be mentioned in same breathe !

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Make way for the Brylcream & big beehive haircuts making a comeback!

JoshFrydenberg rowandean we are not going to get it... we'll drowned in brrr

JoshFrydenberg rowandean If Dean thinks something is reassuring, it means something very bad is about to happen.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Thatcher helped a war criminal who Regan help put in power chile I would piss on both graves

JoshFrydenberg rowandean I wonder who would be comfortable voting for that!

JoshFrydenberg rowandean that is so awesome

JoshFrydenberg rowandean You do understand your copy now competes with betoota advocate and the shovel?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean It’s a federal liberal government that handed the quarantining over to the state governments and who look after aged care, do we really think they could ‘clean up after COVID-19’

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Egalitarianism in Australia is dead. Individualism and neo-capitalism are winning the social/economic argument. If we want what the UK and the US have re: extreme social/economic inequality, then let Regan/Thatcherism rip.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean How many will then become collateral damage? Reaganomics and Thatcherism are dinosaur politics we need fresh thought and modern policies , does this show there is no vision left and we need to go back to the future? Surely not..

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Maggie shut down the coal in industry in the UK. FYI. Is that compatible with your ideology?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Nothing will see this government out of power quicker than Reagan/Thatcherite style policy in a pandemic. “This is no time for ideology”.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Thatcher was awful for the UK

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Trickle down works for those at the top. Luckily, sky news is at the bottom of the shit pile

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Don't forget to question the intent / capabilities of the Defence Force and Law Enforcement. It was so easy for the virus to arrive in Australia!

JoshFrydenberg rowandean We’ve tried conservative politics. It’s a dud. It doesn’t work. It only gives us things like Robodebt, back to the future energy policy, denial of science, a divided community & the rise of hate speech. Conservative views are too narrow minded & are keeping us in the 1950’s.

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean

JoshFrydenberg rowandean How does Rowan understand this when he only just passed his High School Certifcate?

JoshFrydenberg rowandean I predict that the only way Australia can clean up after coronavirus is through some pretty drastic demand side economic policy. Lowering taxes and fiddling with interest rates is already a bust

JoshFrydenberg rowandean 🤮

JoshFrydenberg rowandean Why is this ignorant man on air?
