Australia has raised its travel advice for South Korea and Japan as the coronavirus spreads from China to its neighbours, fuelling concerns the flu-like disease will become a global pandemic

"The central government, local governments, health officials and medical personnel and the entire people must wage an all-out, concerted response to the problem," he said on Sunday.

DFAT said travellers to Japan should also exercise a high degree of caution after 132 cases were confirmed on the mainland on top of theship moored off the coast of Yokohama. Japan is preparing to host millions of tourists in the lead-up to and during the Olympic Games in July. It has set a goal of 40 million tourists in 2020. Official figures show 6.8 million of its 29 million tourists in 2017 came from China. That made China its No.1 source of tourists, just ahead of South Korea's 6.5 million, making it highly exposed to both markets."I think the Japanese government will look at all of the developments over coming weeks," he said.

The Israeli government on Monday said it would temporarily block entry to all non-residents who had recently visited Japan or South Korea.. It now has a total of 144 infections and two deaths, mostly in the north of the country."Italy has confirmed cases of coronavirus, including deaths. Authorities have introduced measures to restrict the use of public spaces and limit travel in some parts of northern Italy where cases have occurred," the updated travel advice said.

As of Monday afternoon, there have been 78,985 cases, with 2469 deaths worldwide. More than 23,300 people have recovered.

UK is shite. We have been receiving flights from day 1 including Iran.

Don't worry Australia will catch up. Uni begins.

But Australia welcome international students from China🤔

The end is near as the evil of globalisation since first contact with natives by foreigners richoets Earth once again. Now with the Chinese coronoavirus originally only native to the blood Chinese and their Native China!😟😟😟

all countries should do this, South Korea is very lax in banning China from entering their country and look what happen. KoreanAir_KE and Flyasiana should wave the penalty charge for cancelling flights and dont be fucking greedy as of now they are refusing.

These actions are coming far to late. There is not enough known about this virus yet, but instead of being extremely cautious Australia is accommodating travel that is now showing elsewhere that this is far more infectious. The Australian health better be able to control.

News limited doing the best to make everyone fearful...relax

And we are being forced by China to relax our entry laws to their citizens; what a joke! This Pandemic really has shown the control China has over Australia.

Is there a type of pandemic that isn't global?

Stand by for the official announcement from the government those from South Korea wanting to travel to Australia can only travel if they are Australian residents, citizens just like it currently is for China. CoronavirusWho
