Australia is in a “wonderful position” right now concerning the vaccine rollout despite setbacks caused by some European countries stopping AstraZeneca exports to Australia according to Department of Health Secretary Brendan Murphy.

“Only 20 countries in the world are making vaccines and we are one of them," he told Sky News. The Morrison government’s contract with AstraZeneca to deliver 3.

8 million doses of the vaccine has not yet been completed with only 700,000 doses reaching Australian shores. Mr Murphy said fortunately the nation’s rollout strategy did not rely solely on vaccines from Europe but instead on a domestic supply produced in Victoria by CSL.

'A very tragic 20 years': War in Afghanistan will continue | Sky News AustraliaForeign Affairs Commentator Keith Suter has examined whether the war in Afghanistan should be considered a success or a failure, labelling it 'a very tragic 20 years'.\n\n'They did get rid of Bin Laden, but they got sucked into a trap and at the end, they didn't know why they were in Afghanistan,' he said.\n\n'Were they there just to destroy Al-Qaeda which has now become a franchise operation around the world, were they there to bring democracy to Afghanistan? They failed there. Were they there to educate the girls? Were they there to stop the opium trade? \n\n'I think it's been a very tragic 20 years. It began in 1979 when the then Soviet Union invaded, the Americans picked it up a little later and when the Americans pull out, the war is going to continue.\n\n'You could say the Americans have been defeated. Al-Qaeda hasn't won. You'll have a number of countries around Afghanistan who will step up their involvement; India, Pakistan, even China.'\n\n Bloody hell. Is there any debate. An EPIC FALIURE!!! There's no confusion or dual point of view. It's completely a loss and failure in war.
