Australia records 400,000 COVID-19 vaccinations in a week for the first time, as Health Minister Greg Hunt flags the potential for smoother international travel for vaccinated Australians.

Australia's vaccination program has struggled to meet its targets from the get-go, but Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced a record week of shots in arms.Close to 2.7 million doses have been administered in totalJust over 402,000 vaccinations were administered last week.

But despite Mr Hunt being able to draw confidence from the latest figures, he today refrained from setting any new targets. "I won't put a figure on it. Because if I do, if it is above or below then there could be a point of commentary," Mr Hunt said.Navy Commodore Eric Young, who has been tasked with coordinating Australia's vaccine supply, announced the nation's weekly distribution was set to almost double.

"This week, on the back of the additional allocations and amid growing supplies, we will be distributing over 900,000 doses of vaccines, with more than 5,000 orders going out across the country," Commodore Young said.Possibility of easier travel an 'incentive' to get vaccinated(

10?

Not hard given the dismal numbers we've seen so far...abit better than completely useless still isnt good.

Just reading the comments from the whinger brigade reminds me of how Australians used to laugh at whinging poms. Now we seem to be trying to outdo them no matter what happens. Look around where would you rather live?

Everyone who is vaccinated should be made to wear an arm band… so the rest of us sensible people know who to stay clear of..!

What's that like 10? Nice try putting on a positive spin for the Lib's vaccine fuck ups...

Out come the 'experts'....

Hahaha it's those compelled to get your experimental drug.

What, like 20?

INFORM CONSENT!

We were first in the queue.... 😁 Until we were last in the queue.... 😢

Poor dumb sheep lining up to be poisoned. There's a reason Pharma has been given total protection against law suits from injury and death their vaccines cause. They're not as safe as they claim.

Record? 😂😂😂Not compared to other countries

A record? Well they were starting from a pretty low base!
