Wages grew by 0.8 per cent over the first three months of the year, figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows.

Private sector wage increases drove the growth, increasing by 0.8 per cent in the March quarter and 3.8 per cent over the year.“A number of private sector industries have recorded annual wages growth above 4 per cent, with the remaining industries all above 3 per cent annual growth,” Merrington said.
