There has been a 320 per cent increase in far-right terrorist attacks in the West over the past five years, a report has found.

According to the 2019 Global Terrorism Index, released on Wednesday, 19 countries in North America, Western Europe and Oceania were affected by attacks during this period.

"[And far-right terrorism deaths] have been increasing year on year ... from 11 deaths in 2017, 26 deaths in 2018, to 77 deaths by the end of September 2019," quoted the report, which was published by the Institute for Economics & Peace . But overall, deaths from terrorism decreased by 15.2 per cent in 2018 to 15,952 globally - the fourth consecutive year of improvement. Each year, the index ranks countries most affected by terrorism to least affected by terrorism.READ MOREBut the executive chairman of the IEP Steve Killelea said the rise of far-right terrorism presents new challenges for Australia.

"Far-right terrorism is different to Islamic-inspired terrorism … What we find with far-right terrorists is that none of them are actually aligned with a group, they are self-radicalised," he told SBS News.Mr Killelea said the number of far-right terrorist attacks globally"is still small, but it's a worrying trend".

nbaker_au Wonder what the figure is for far left climatehoax groups ? 🤷🏼‍♂️

if you want to count Islamic terrorist as far-right, and they are it would jump 100 fold

sounds about right seeing they have been pretty much no existent

77 deaths by right-wing terrorists this year. About 2000 deaths by lightening strikes each year. OMG! You need to warn everyone about the lightening!!!!!

Here some well research material that clearly shows your woke message is errant nonsense. Terrorism goes had in hand with Islam. SBS may want Sharia Law and culture, but Australians definitely do not

This reference should help you get a better understanding of what the real problem is by way of perspective and scale. Nothing goes even close to the enormity of Islam terrorist attacks.

So its gone from 1 attack to 3. SBS also defines far-right to include anyone who doesn't carry a Socialist Party membership in their wallet FakeNews

So point to these alleged attacks, lying is a government and lefty failing, so stop it.

Coincides with Russian campaign to get Trump elected, Brexit happen & Coalition back in power, in Australia.

You missed this bit from the report: 'Despite far-right terrorism accounting for a tiny fraction of the worldwide total' is a Marxist propaganda machine.

Name them, between SBS and ABC they are obviously reporting absolute lies just to push their left agendas and anyone that isn’t left leaning are automatically far right and have to be silenced

THAT'S your headline? 15k deaths by Muslim extremists, but you focus on the 77 deaths by the far-right? (A statistical blip anyway because of Brendan Tarrant). This after revisioning history about bushfires. This is Marxist propaganda worse than the ABC. SBS should be defunded.

Of the 16'000 ppl killed by terrorists in in 2019, 77 were killed by far right extremists & 1 madman killed 50 of those & your take is we need to worry about the far right? The report said 1 Islamic group alone killed almost 40% & you post a pic of a man who has killed none?

Lol. This one has stirred up the angry white lad crowd 😀😀

well that percentage will only get worst while western countriesintervene and interfere with middle east oil and gas reserves

....but they are safer than Australian women or gays going to Saudi Arabia.

Australia is becoming such a scary place 😥

Craig_Foster Ahh, but we just got told it was the greenies who are the white supremacists

Oh, how dare the SBS report on what the Institute for Economics & Peace published...😒

114 deaths in 3 years globaly the article attributes to right wing terrorism..11, 26 and 77 each year to Sep 2019 Shocking isnt it.... 15,952 deaths globally in 2018 alone due to terrorism Afganistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Syria, Pakistan, Somalia... SBS is a joke, click bait headlines

Shhhh don’t mention Islam . SBS thinks the sun shines out of Mo’s ass .

Picture of Muslims women hugging Misuse of statistics to inflate the topic's relevance Misuse of the word 'right' conflating it with racism This is really basic brainwashing

SBS, are you NORMAL?

Has there been any other attacks you’d like to mention

Name 3

320% increase on... A very small number compared to ISIS and Arab amd African terrorism.

Does SBS still get Taxpayer funding...?

And even more terror attacks by the far left when you look at the number of antifa attacks - why no mention of this? Hummm... antifadomesticterrorists

More anti-white fear mongering from an anti-white organisation that takes the money of white people to preach for our own replacement. The number of Islamist attacks dwarfs the total numbers, and have you ever actually thought of listening to nationalists instead of demonising?

report on these too

Australia's 'radical right' could rise with an 'effective' leader, experts warnThe 'radical right' may achieve political success in Australia once it finds an 'effective' leader, according to experts on Australia's far-right Oh no! You mean Aussies are just waiting for someone to follow who will actually represent their interests? The horror of it all! By 'far-right' you mean 'Australians representing Australians.' These 'experts' spew anti-white drivel. And hopefully that leader followes their Führer and puts a bullet in their head Australia is already too far to the right, don’t need to move further.

'People have a right to be very concerned' about alleged Westpac breach | Sky News AustraliaLabor Senator Deb O’Neil says “people have a right to be very concerned” about Westpac allegedly breaching Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter terrorism finance laws.\n\nMs O’Neil told Sky News “to [allegedly] break the law on 23 million occasions is simply outrageous”, because Australia “was at a period of time where we were hoping to be rebuilding trust in our major institutions”. \n\nFinancial intelligence agency Austrac launched legal action against the bank on Tuesday alleging systemic non-compliance. \n\n“It’s okay to make a profit, but you have to put the systems in place to comply with the law,” she said. \n\n ‘Concerned’? How about OUTRAGED! It is about time some of these white collar executives faced serious criminal charges for systemic illegalities with gaol time as a possible outcome. Currently it’s only customers & clients who suffer the repercussions of their actions. Westpac people/stakeholders also have a right to be even more concerned about rationale behind some very dubious 'climate' measures.
