Former Speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says Chinese President Xi Jinping has become more “aggressive” in his plan to have “complete control” of the world – and Australia must be in a position “to fight” if the time comes.

“To stay in power he has to be more aggressive – and he has become more aggressive", she told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave. “They are about turning our part of the world, including us, into vassal states where they are in complete control.

“This is a regime that harvests body parts and sells them. “This is a regime that is determined to bring down the United States as the dominant power in the world – they want to break its currency – that is the aim of President Xi. “We have to be on a foot that is ready to fight if we need to.”

Well that's obvious. Found it interesting that while that ship blocked the Suez canal there was a Russian cruiser at one end and a US one at the other..why

For fucks sake grow up.

Can we stop with the constant Sinophobia please, . All you’re doing is stirring up the hoons...

Federal government the Problem 🙄

I wish her good health to see that day

how?😂😂😂😂😂

There's spies in the government i think lol

Bishop is truly a nut case. Oz started the provocations to follow crackpot Trump & China hit back.Oz actions are offensive & China does not want to deal with u. Not a question of coercion more a case of decoupling coz plenty of friendly countries that want to trade with us.

Reality 101 and beyond. China will not hold back soon. Anyone remember how Japan was underestimated in 1930’s? Don’t think China will be any less ruthless. MarisePayne

President Biden promised to try&make it impossible for China to be above US under his watch&that he could seek the support of Allies to do that. What people who volunteer support to a hierarchy of nations should consider is that there's no benefit to engage in conflict-all loose

Till the end I say

She has a point! China has been becoming a major disruption in world peace. The failure of containing Covid and the major setbacks created to western powers and being on the United Nations council is as unsettling as a sick cruel joke cos this moment ain’t no laughing matter.🇦🇺☝️

Better change government and make sure the next one has no links to them then. Current government is not up to it. Liberal Party donor 'engaged in acts of foreign interference':

Little bit of distraction from Bronny? Don't fall for it.

BB was one of the useless member of the Liberal team. She is not qualified to make such comments.

Your older than Joe Biden but not as smart.

Time to use all those skills I gained in call of duty all these years!

Must fight for freedom AGAINST evil Communism!

Omg. A country with a population the size of one of China’s small cities. Hilarious.

Mr Scomo you killing Australia can’t you do anything or do you first have to take instructions from someone else

More Sky scum news.

Fight ? Seriously ? Bronwyn’s lack of faculties is clearly getting mixed up with Australia’s lack of ability to defend ourselves or fight a battle with China. If we went to war with China. We would be overrun within months.

Emphasis on ‘former’ speaker

China has been invading Australia by stealth for years.

Brownies would bath him in metho

Australia needs stop supplying iron ore to the Chinese communist military ?

Australia invades Iraq & Afghanistan, bombs Syria, spends a billion on the Canberra war memorial, 300 million on celebrating WW1, boosts it's arms industry, buys new subs & hypersonic missiles but China is becoming more war like & 'aggressive'? Good one Bronwyn.

Back in the 1930's many people laughed at the warnings about Hitler.

avarakai Swamy39

Dont worry Bronnie Jim Molan has got a big bayonet and he hates commies

Our country is full of such shitty political trash. We've always been a vassal state, what's the problem in changing master?

Take years for Oz to be prepared for any conflict with China. Need a nuke stockpile of some sort, drones/navy hardware, Ebombes etc. We also need the Yanks and Poms to have their shit together. Stronger bond with India & most of the other Asian countries.

Helicopter Queen will have died of old age before this war comes. (Next week?)

I move that the former Speaker Helicopter Bronnie be no longer heard.

We refuse to arm ourselves with nuclear weapons and yet for our defence, we turn to the USA which is heavily armed with nuclear weapons. It's the nuclear deterrent that has kept us all safe for decades and yet Australia pretends to be above all that. Pathetic.

Fight lolol this is not 1950.. all wars will be in the sky..peace and understanding is the only way out only if we had media that cares for the lives of the people instead of the pockets of that old dog you call boss

Hey Bronwyn, any helicopter rides lately!

LOL Australia gov is so good at making joke of itself. FreeHongKong

Probably shouldn't be talking like that?

How does Bronwyn propose we fight China ,does she propose a strongly worded letter asking to speak to the manager or possibly taking a very expensive helicopter flight to Geelong.

rapplerdotcom hope Duterte has balls too against China President🇨🇳! teddyboylocsin PingLacson ABSCBNNews sotto_tito

I can’t imagine Bronnie in the front line. Always old men and now women willing to send young men and women to die.

Hope Duterte President of Philippines have balls like Australia representatives! OustDuterteNOW

Has this women suffered a head injury? Get well soon

Ya. Right ! With what ? Better depend on Uncle Sam , and have strong alliances with SE Asia countries!

What rubbish these ppl talk. Not much diplomacy shown here. Answer me one thing. China will take Taiwan this decade, will Australia go to war to defend the Taiwanese?

If internationalstudents want to come Australia, they have to boycottonlineeducation else they won't call you here.Boycott australianuniversities. LetUsBackToAus. Don't accept even a single unit for onlinestudy, It's a hoax with our future. AlexHawkeMP AnnastaciaMP IATA

Demented time, it’s a good time very senior citizen wigged Bronwyn Bishop sought help. She has lots of resources and connections at her disposal. Do you have enough resources to fight China? You were happy to sell the country to China when it suited your political ends. 2faced

Australia needs to buy back it country first

Such incredible thoughtful insights from our Browny.

No hope in beating China. Nowhere near it's league

Bronwyn ....Your Friday seniors moment is showing time to go back to your nana nap.

I don’t remember China saying anything like this ever... can’t we be less aggressive and live in peace with neighbours?

I do not agree with Ms. Bishop often, but I agree with her totally here. Which is one of the glories and gifts of living in a free polity and state. We can disagree on much but will agree when our freedom is threatened.

'Speaker of the House' - yep, that just about sums up Bronny. 🙄

Just give us 20 years and our obsolete French submarine might be ready to do battle.

Indeed .. I agree too. But JoeBiden & SecBlinken are too soft. The world needs Trump.

FIXED IT! Former Speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says ScottMorrisonMP has become more “aggressive” in his plan to have “complete control” over WOMEN....

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'd love to say we in Britain could help, but the government is reducing our army to 72,000 men and at this rate we probably couldn't even fight Belgium.

Biden's stance on China and Indo-Pacific 'good news for Australia' | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian's Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says President Joe Biden's policy on China and the Indo-Pacific has been 'very good' - the Afghanistan military withdrawal will free up 'resources' to bolster their Navy in the Indo-Pacific.\n\n'The Biden administration has been very sensible- quite different from the second Obama administration,' Mr Sheridan said.\n\n'On the whole, it has continued Trump policy but I do think on China and the central challenge in the Indo-Pacific he and his whole administration... have been very good. \n\nMr Sheridan pointed to President Biden's efforts in withdrawing troops from Afghanistan to devote more resources to the Indo-Pacific.\n\n'I even think that it's been very good that he's pulled out of Afghanistan and is trying to draw down in the middle-east - because if you're fighting a war in the middle-east you're never going to devote the resources you need in the Pacific.\n\n'The US Navy has shrunk it's too small - can't do what we need it to do, so I think really Biden has been very good on China and the Indo-Pacific.'\n\n Greg wont be invited back Uh oh, programming error at Sky. China further 'isolating’ itself by suspending economic dialogue with Australia | Sky News AustraliaDefence strategist Tyson Sara says China’s suspension of its economic accord with Australia comes after it ran out of exports to sanction and is “another step” in the communist power “isolating itself”. \n\nIn a statement on a Chinese government website, Beijing declared the decision was based on the current attitude of the Australian government towards China-Australia cooperation.\n\n“They’re not really going to sanction the stuff that they need, and we’ve seen record iron ore prices,” Mr Sara said.\n\n“They can sanction barley, they can sanction wine, they can do some of the things that hurt us that don’t hurt them. \n\n“I think they have run out of those economic levers for now - don’t ever rule it out - but taking this action is just another step in, I think, China isolating itself rather than strengthening its own position.' Is China isolating itself or Australia. Obvious answer. Why are Australia creating conflict with our biggest trading partner. We are a small country. What the hell is this government doing? 🤷🏻‍♂️
