Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Australian organisations, including governments and businesses, are currently being targeted by a sophisticated foreign 'state-based' hacker.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Australian organisations, including governments and businesses, are currently being targeted by a sophisticated foreign "state-based" hacker.

"We know it is a sophisticated state-based cyber actor because of the scale and nature of the targeting and the tradecraft used." Mr Morrison said, so far, it did not appear there had been any "large-scale" breaches of people's personal information but described the attacks as "malicious"."To encourage organisations, particularly those in the health, critical infrastructure and essential services to take expert advice and implement technical defences to thwart this malicious cyber activity."

When asked whether the country responsible had been identified, he said the Federal Government would not be making "any public attribution" about the attacks. "What I can confirm is there are not a large number of state-based actors that can engage in this type of activity," Mr Morrison said.

I really wish someone would say China on the record though.

The best way to distract the public

'Australia facing the death of real journalism' what are you for ? What is your purpose? Why did any of you go into Journalism? Why are you killing our democracy? What will you do next? Why can't you work for us, the public? We need truth not propaganda.

Cyber actors are your friends under the hood Mr. PM.. wake up and stop being puppet of someone else.

Scotty found Trump’s ‘Distraction Playbook for Dummies’ I see.

Is this to distract us from the 7 lynchings in America and how we arent speaking on it and the rest of what is happening there to the UN. Because a cyber attack on the Northern Rivers NSW gov website 2 days ago seems way less important than lynchings in 2020.

Well, of course. Because the USA has an important election coming up, and you need to sow seeds now.

Enough is enough. The rest of the world should cut China off. Let ‘em play with their only friends next door in North Korea

I suspect the CIA

Why does our Government keep standing infront of China beating its chest... China will kick our ass if they wanted to.

My heart bleeds for you Scomo. What about the dog spied on East Timor, one of the poorest country in the world to takes advantage of the gas resources of it. Now the lawyer is on charges related to this matter. Not in open court but in secret. Shame on you.

I think it is more a case that ScottyFromMarketing got his phone bill after kids were on candy crush & he needs someone to blame auspol

Distraction

Bullshit!

What about our own governments attack on its own institution via dirty 'revolving door' deals and bribery

Yeh nuh! Is this new? “No” it’s constant..is it worse than before “no not really”! Ffs..why is this news

Can't believe these hackers got into our systems and raised university fees!!!

Is it Chiiiiiiiiina?

Fake news 🤣

I call BS......a diversion from a struggling PM

Thanks for your service sharperbio every time you don the black jeans, you’re fighting a war on the IT help desk.

FFS ABC. You know this is a diliberate Gov distraction, not even worthy of a headline and you're still plugging this afternoon. Why? Sorry, but I've lost a lot of faith in you today. CyberAttack auspol

If Australia has been attacked, does that mean it’s WAR? No appeasement! auspol CyberAttack

Oh please!! We are NOT bloody year 3 students. Really!

Australia facing online attack from foreign government, PM LIES FixedItForYou

Sure we are, it's Osama Bat Laden behind it all. Stop trying to distract us from the issues at hand.

Or Morrison creating a smoke screen for 20% unemployment, arguing with the speaker in parliament, shutting down debate in parliament, and being an all rounder bully boy ScottyFromMarketing

No we aren't. We are facing economic attacks from his cabinet without any opposition.

Could it be because you changed the data laws so you could get at everyones data and therefore allowing others to exploit it too?

thisisnotjournalism

I don't buy it SorryNotSorry

Get your headlines right! Headlines=China behind attack, content=China, Russia, Iran are top 3 suspects. I dont care which country, but news agency shouldnt instil incorrect understanding of readers.

Quick no one’s looking

Should have thought of this when his country was burning down and he was vacationing in Hawaii.

Another look over there moment from this fraudulent government... what news are you goinv to drop at 5:30 tonight SCUMMO scottyfrommarketing

Distraction from the incompetence

Ohh look over there! It's easy to distract the stupid Aussies from my governments failures-NOT

While our great ally the US can spy on all online communications in Australia without a murmur of protest?

Ok which dog let loose their fleas out of the cybermarket through the Great Firewalls?

Bullshit The Prime Minister did NOT say that.

ooo, shiny...! Distraction, govts best friend... Medias next click bait...

Does he mean 'sophistic'? Is scottyfromhillsong getting signals from his imperial imaginary friend again? Don't worry bruh, get your peak cap, have a beer, and hit Hawaii. China cannot deliver COVID via 5G, no matter what the pastor tells you.

Democracy needs an enemy to survive.

Stunt Pro Scummo was less than convincing this morning. Even the LiarFromTheShire couldn't raise any enthusiasm over this ridiculous non-event press conference about nothing.

This is utter 🐎💩 from the boy that cried wolf!!

BS just a distraction from yesterday and our incompetent media is lapping it up like the good puppy's they are 🙄🙄🙄

Come on , just blame China and CCP🤣🤣

I know there was a large scale corporate cyber attack that happened just weeks ago but was kept out of the media. Not sure why PM is brining it up today 🤔

An attack of this scale and this level of tradecraft can only be pulled off by hacker organisations. No government has that much resource on standby. But to fool laymen, you are on the right track.

Odds on favourite?

I’m calling Bullsh*t

“When asked whether the country responsible had been identified, he said the Federal Government would not be making 'any public attribution' about the attack.”

lEts bLame chInA

This goes on all the time.

I call bullshit

This is the perfect matter to refer to the new Disinformation Taskforce.....

By the tone of the comments here it appears ScottyfromMarketing and may finally have it demonstrated to them that can't actually fool all of the people all of the time. The validity of this 'announcement' as anything other than a distraction is in serious doubt.

.... but still no action again CPC linked iFlytek & Zhu Minshen: iFlytek techies allowed into Australia to conduct 'site work' in Sydney, even after US blacklisting

I am waiting for his leaked videos or photos

I love how they keep not understanding how the internet works when they role out new apps or give centrelink to millions of people on one day and keep organically DDOSing themselves and calling it cyber attacks.

Is this a new form of distraction? The cyber form a 'plandemic scare scam', 'cyber virus of some sort, presumably also from China, I suppose. No MORE HOODWINKING or CONVENIENTLY CONCEALING the truth please!!! It's irritating.

Do I sense the possibility of 'Electricity' , 'Internet', and other key every day 'Utilities' being 'SHUT DOWN' due to this SUPER fake report. What better way to DEMOLISH what's left of our economy.

Wait for it.

AND THE BRAGGING? FOFF SCOMMO...

Well Scott, you were advised NOT to order the Mongolian beef. But you went ahead... the Sichuan noodle was excellent, if a little HOT... Too late now brother....

the evidence suggests this is not true

Oh look look...

All part of the Trump inspired ongoing plan to demonise and increase anxiety about China and to justify Australia's initial anti China rhetoric that has resulted in economic retaliation from China. None of this imported Trump re-election strategy has benefited Australia.

Not urgent Not sudden Been going on for months In fact, it’s always going on So why the morning presser? B/c today they’re going to dump him, I wonder? And he needed time and a distraction ready to go.

It's friday and a diversion is needed so the garbage can be put out later with no scrutiny. Politics has come to this level of cynicism. This govmint is as transparent as a brick wall, doubly thick and triply corrupt.

Just amplifying government bullshit. Well done. Any evidence at all? No, just government distraction. Have a look how the PM behaved in Question Time yesterday:

ScottyFromMarketing needs a distraction from yesterday’s Shouty performance ?

Is the word 'foreign' a typo?

And they said the Covid app was safe!

The day after the worst employment figures in Australia's history, SportsRort, 60billion fuck up, largest in Australia's economic history, Morrison's behaviour in parliament yesterday. Quick call the distraction department

Sounds like smoke-screens and mirrors to me!

What more diversionary bullshit is Scummo of Marketing pedalling today?

Where's the proof?

Scare them! Classic Bush!

Did a Minister 'like' some edgy porn again ?

On the bright side... isn't it great that we're not getting invaded by Iraq and Afghanistan? And things are so quiet over there. They must have found their Inner Paradise

For some perspective from 2014 'Australia has been ordered to cease spying on East Timor and its legal advisers, in a landmark decision by the International Court of Justice The court also ruled that the Australian government must seal documents and data seized in an ASIO raid'

Please just publish the evidence. Dont be a p*s*y. Everyone will support you if evidence is publish. But sth like this is ugly.

Something's happen, but can't tell ya what. Propaganda

No wonder Albo didn't attend the meeting. He could smell the bullshit

BREAKING Prime Ministers says 'look over here' after announcing draconian cuts to arts education and breaking parliamentary rules when he bullied the speaker auspol trumplite distraction redherring

Waste of good oxygen is what that little presser was. So much shit to be distracted from isn't there ScottMorrisonMP ?

We need to disengage from China. Cutting off students coming here would be a good partial start.

Chicomms must be stopped NOW before it's too late

“I’ve got nothing new to say, but it gets me on the telly.”

Ignore the grub.

Don't make conspiracy theories, show it if there is evidence ! Australia is now a battlefield everywhere because of conspiracy theories and racism created by American media companies and Murdoch media. Do we really have to follow the same way as the U.S ?

INVESTIGATE THE CYBER SECURITY EXPERT (RACHEL F. )CONNECTIONS WITH PM OR PM OFFICE....

Journo: Is it unprecedented? PM: No, I wouldn't say that, it's a constant threat Journo: Has it been increasing? PM: No, not really. Please, Australian media, do better than this laughable distraction.

Unemployment through the roof, cost of University degrees doubling, community transmitted covid19 cases on the rise... I know let's scare ppl with a cyber security attack by an unnamed country on unnamed targets. you're very very good sir, ScottMorrisonMP auspol
