Agree although, Indigenous people already get about 10 days a year to celebrate etc

This day must happen

On the day that 'Tony Abbott is voted out of politics in this country forever' should be a national day of celebration. Perhaps May the Fourth?

What sorrow, the British and subsequent migrants have done more fora Aboriginals that they deserved.

How about a holiday for the anniversary of Sorry Day, and forget the Queen’s Birthday holiday?

The Queen is about to retire or die, which ever comes first, we then become an Independent nation, by referendum. That date would be Australia Day, gives both sides time to adjust.

WTF?

We non aboriginal Aussies give $30 b i l l i o n every year to Aboriginal affairs. Perhaps we could have a day when a huge thank you is given to us.

I'm all for a national day of mourning & remembrance, so long as its for the true Indigenous Australians: The Australian Pygmy People. Let me introduce you to them. Aboriginal activists in 1970s wiped them from history

deb2829 Isn't that what Sorry Day is?

Why not make 26 Jan a day of sorrow and reflection, in that case? Oh, it is already for many people! Having a separate day of reflection would make 26 Jan even more divisive than it already is!

Why do pple think Aus. day means anything, it's only been around in current form since 1994.
