| Foreign Minister Penny Wong said on Thursday it was in the interests of both Australia and China to “stabilise” their relationship, and that she was open to engaging with her counterpart from Beijing.
China’s and Australia’s foreign ministers Wang Yi and Penny Wong are both at the G20 summit in Bali this week.“Australian ministers remain open to engage, we are willing to engage, and that willingness extends to any meetings on the margins of the G20.” Her comments followed a speech in Singapore on Wednesday in which she called on China to exert its influence to end the war in Ukraine. She reiterated those comments, saying China had a special responsibility to uphold the UN Charter. She also welcomed Mr Wang’s much-touted meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the G20 event.
So like the $700 million gift to france the Chinese get buy what you want
There will be no meeting
Thank God we finally have adults at the helm!
Wait….isn’t she doing Albo’s job or is it the other way around!?!?…..or is there two ppl doing the same job now
Wake up, Australia don’t need these puppets. They’re scared and worried so stand on our own legs and teach them a lesson
At present this government a bit of a mess: Albo in EU going hard on China, Wong here, more sensible: Bowen got nuts on climate, Chalmers more sensible. MikeSmithAFR
