Australian Country Music singer Adam Harvey says he thinks by the end of the year the entertainment industry and tourism industry will experience a much needed “boom”. “Travelling around our own backyard is going to become a really popular thing,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Mr Harvey said he “wrote and recorded a whole new album” around the concept of travelling around Australia but postponed the release of the album after the outbreak of the coronavirus. The Album, titled ‘Highway Number One’, after the highway which circumnavigates the country, has been put on hold and in the mean-time Mr Harvey said he had been participating in a number of charity events to help raise money for good causes.

SonyMusicAU No shit. People will go out for the sheer joy of it. Unfortunately, pubs who've always gouged on pricing will now be doing so to make up for lost gouging time. Tightwads, introverts and publicans will be the only people with money by Christmas.

Scott Morrison ‘wants to get Australia opening up’: Kenny | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says Scott Morrison’s National Press Club speech was “a bit of a stocktake” but clearly the Prime Minister wants Australia to be “opening up” on the path forward out of COVID-19. \n\nOn Tuesday Prime Minister Scott Morrison thanked Australians for their sacrifices during the coronavirus lockdown saying their efforts have allowed the country to begin rebuilding.\n\nMr Morrison told the National Press Club that many developed countries experienced 100 times the deaths Australia did while Australians escaped the “worst-case scenario”.\n\nMr Kenny said as it stands, Australia is “in a great spot” as “we’ve given ourselves a great chance here, we’ve saved lives, stopped our health system being overwhelmed and we’ve crushed infections”.\n\n“All this means we ought to be re-opening much more quickly and with much more confidence,” Mr Kenny said.\n\nHe also said the prime minister “doesn’t want a fight” with the states on border closures but he is becoming increasingly “frustrated with their behavior”. \n\n“Seriously, Tasmania, WA, SA, the Territory and Queensland have got to open their borders, and more importantly they have to open their economies,” Mr Kenny said. \n\nIt comes as mixed messages have been delivered by state premiers, with some pushing for sooner relaxation of social distancing regulations and borders bans, and others seeking their extension.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia ScottMorrisonMP Can we open up to China? Qld border closures 'more about the state election' and less about state health | Sky News AustraliaIt’s time for Qld Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to “park the politics” and release the “hand break” on state border closures which are reducing productivity at both a state and national level, according to NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance.\n\nThe Queensland government has indicated border closures could extend to as late as September despite Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy insisting there was not medical reason to support such measures. \n\nMr Constance said the premier was making a “fundamental mistake”.\n\nAt a time when politicians should be focusing on bringing “all Australians together,” Annastacia Palaszczuk is making decisions based on the state election later in the year.\n\n“If we are going to get this country going again, and safely, to avoid a second wave of infections, the states have got to work together”. \n\nMr Constance told Sky News host Chris Kenny, the “tourism element” was only part of the problem.\n\nShutting borders “slows down logistics” and “slows down freight” at a time when “we’ve got to speed the economy up”.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia AnnastaciaMP It's spelled 'hand brake' AnnastaciaMP Yet SA , Tas, WA & Vic have closed borders too AnnastaciaMP She has to ruin Queensland just as Andrews had to ruin Victoria so the Tech Oligarch globalists can swarm in and buy up and build their Smart Cities where people can't own property, only they can because they own the whole city.

Qld border closure threatens $5 billion hit to state's tourism industry | Sky News AustraliaQueensland's border closures could stop more than four million Australians visiting the Sunshine State and could cost the state's tourism industry as much as $5 billion.\n\nPremier Annastacia Palaszczuk suggested the state's borders could remain closed until September to keep coronavirus infection rates low.\n\nTourism operators in the state have argued rates are already low and have remained so for some time.\n\nLast year, Queenslanders spent $10 billion holidaying in their own state which is often matched by interstate visitors from New South Wales and Victoria who make up the largest portion of the domestic market.\n\nSenator Pauline Hanson launched a High Court challenge over the legality of enforcing an extended border closure for Queensland with former politician Clive Palmer doing the same in Western Australia.\n\nThe High Court said both cases stand a good chance of succeeding if infection numbers continue to decline.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia The chook will just lobby the federal government for money to promote tourism. Hopefully that will teach QLD not to vote for her, or labor again. Queensland’s premiere doesn’t care she knows she won’t get elected again so she’s determined to make everyone as poor as church mice before she goes, it’s not about saving lives and we’ve already flattened the curve.
