Aussie movie star’s plan for $14.6m house

The A-list Hollywood heart-throb has just submitted plans to build a massive $14.6m home near Byron Bay , with sweeping beach views and a $74,000 fireplace.

“Both the upper and lower floors of the proposed dwelling are excavated into the sloping site,” the planning report states.“The excavated design results in a reduced height when viewed from adjoining properties to the west and from public spaces to the east. “This arrangement is a direct response to the rural setting and the views of the site from neighbouring dwellings.”A breakdown of the home’s costs pegs the swimming pool at $315,000 and the sauna and steam room at $29,000.
