Atlassian billionaire backing plan for top boys’ school to become co-ed | JordsBaker

Sydney private school Cranbrook will consider admitting female students for the first time in its 102-year history under a plan backed by Atlassian tech billionaire and donor Scott Farquhar.

Asher Learmonth, head prefect at Cranbrook: “You don’t need a sister or mother to understand this. Women are people just like you.” A statement from the school said it was “continually considering measures to better the school environment and improve social and educational outcomes” but said it was not considering a proposal.

Sources said Mr Farquhar, a graduate of public school, James Ruse Agricultural High, was an enthusiastic proponent of the plan and was a generous donor. Atlassian refuses to comment on the personal affairs of its directors, but his sons are believed to attend the school.report Mr Farquhar is worth more than $18 billion. His co-founder Mr Cannon-Brookes is not involved in the Cranbrook proposal, multiple sources said.

JordsBaker Nice story about my old high school JordsBaker. I say about it's time. Mind you, if I hadn't been desperate to meet more girls when I got out, I may not have done so many plays and silly musicals at Sydney Uni. 😉

JordsBaker Not saying he isn't correct but why does his opinion matter here?

JordsBaker Who cares what he says?

JordsBaker “many boys only had contact with girls at Saturday night parties and too often considered them mere objects of our desires, and a vehicle for validation.” one day they might even have to interact with people who aren’t multi-millionaires

JordsBaker Not just for the boys sake but for the sake of every woman they have to interact with as adults.

JordsBaker Oh good show, the first XIV will think they jave someone to wash and iron their rugby jerseys

JordsBaker Well if it’s backed by an IT billionaire it must be good
