The material was removed and the state's wildlife authority has begun an investigation into the suspected illegal dumping. 

Park and wildlife rangers said they believe the contaminated roof panels, some with the wooden fascia trim still attached, had been discarded in the Cherbourg Forest Reserve in the past six months.Man's body washes up on beach south of Sydney"Dumping rubbish in any national park, state forest, or forest reserve is illegal," South Burnett senior ranger Mark Casey said.

The asbestos material was removed over the weekend and the state's wildlife authority has begun an investigation into the alleged illegal dumping. Some of the wood and roof panels were painted green.
