Arrests during George Floyd protests exceed 1,600 as curfews imposed on more cities

Can you please not refer to them as “violent protests”? Word usage matters. These are in the majority peaceful protests that have had some violent incidences due to preemptive escalation by police, and some rogue (often white) protesters.
