The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority will increase its scrutiny of the health insurer and might take further action against the company.

Chief executive David Koczkar received $3.76 million, including a $1.64 million pay increase.The proxy votes were directed in favour of the board’s remuneration before it had become clear the breach had affected 9.7 million Australians.

Ms Smith said APRA would intensify supervision of all entities not meeting the Information Security Prudential Standard because recent cyberattacks reinforced the need for continuing vigilance and focus by boards on operational resilience.

“Cybersecurity is a highly significant risk area for all regulated entities, and we remind banks, insurers and superannuation funds to remain vigilant in order to protect their beneficiaries and the Australian community,” Ms Smith said.Mr Koczkar said the health insurer has been in regular contact with APRA and consulted it on the scope of the external review.

“We will share the key outcomes and consequences of the review, where appropriate, having regard to the interests of our customers and stakeholders and the ongoing nature of the Australian Federal Police“We are also committed to sharing what we have learnt from our experience so that Australian businesses and the broader community can be better placed to navigate any similar challenges in future.”onto the dark web relating to a range of diseases, including HIV, hepatitis and mental illness.
