tournaments in doubt, with the decision on whether Friday's fixtures will go ahead to be made later on Thursday, officials said.
Despite the positive test, Mr Andrews remained confident that the Australian Open, which is due to begin on February 8, will not be impacted. "There are a number of 500-600 people who are either players or officials and others who are casual contacts," Mr Andrews said on Wednesday night."That may have an impact in tomorrow's play in the lead-up events, but at this stage there is no impact to the tournament proper."
The warning signs and alerts were always there about the risks of quarantine for the tennis and Australian Open. Send the whole entourage away. Cancel the tennis. Stop the virus !

What a joke
These workers shouldn’t be doing second jobs when they are dealing with people who could have COVID. To make it worse it’s a volunteer job! We need volunteers for lots of things, but a bit of common sense has to be used.
I stand with Bev o'connor 😃
If a full outbreak eventuates Dan will have 2 resign. I can’t imagine after what ppl of Melbourne went thru last yr they would cop another lock down particularly if it’s tennis related. I thought it was a terrible idea to let so many ppl in 4 a tennis tournament. Fingers X
