ANZ has asked staff to spend at least half of their time in the office because it says “high-performing teams need regular in-person contact with each other”.

ANZ has set a target for staff to spend half of their time in the office because it says “high-performing teams need regular in-person contact with each other”., the bank’s group executive of talent and culture and service centres, said in an email to all global staff on Thursday that the bank recognised the benefits of remote work but some activities were best done together in one location.

“We’re clear, however, that high-performing teams need regular in-person contact with each other and other people they work with, and that having our people spend an average of half their time in the workplace is what we need when it comes to a high-performing hybrid workforce,” Ms Van der Merwe said.

Like ANZ, ING Australia encourages staff to spend as much time in the office as outside it. The bank’s executive director of human resources, Nick Gotsis, said ING allows for hybrid working because it wants “team members to have the time and space to live fulfilling lives”.

Exactly. This has been my argument. BAU has been great. Projects have all but stopped. Integrating new members has been difficult, slowing shift to performing.

Will someone get employee of the month award for that innovative idea.

That’s not really true, look at the profit they made. If ANZ think people need to interact why did they shut all the branches

Why does it say 50%? So basically 3 days or more 😂🤦‍♂️

regular contact! HA Most people I work with live hundreds and thousands of kms away - I'll be Teams meeting them in the office or at home

just don't have high performing teams, then it doesn't matter.

So there were no high-performing teams during covid?

NSW river levels forecast to reach 70 year highResidents in New South Wales central-west may be locked out of their homes for up to four days as river levels are forecast to reach a 70-year high. The local community in Forbes, NSW is preparing for the Lachlan River to peak at 10.8 metres, a height unseen since 1952. 70 years is not very long. I was up Brachina Gorge a few days ago. 580 Million Years ago Australia was here. Stop comparing 70 years as some sort of relative measure. 70 years is a blink in the eye for everything except a human life. Which is itself a blink of the eye. I blame Dan Andrews.
