Her family of eight shared the large house after her daughter’s young family had moved back in over a week ago, with all their belongings lost. Premier Mark McGowan has labelled the fire emergency “devastating”, adding he personally knew one of the dozens of families who had lost their homes.
“I would not characterise [the two burglaries] as looting, but it is of course a serious concern that there have been two burglaries in the evacuated areas,” Mr Dawson said. “The winds are going to be gusting up to 60 to 70 kilometres an hour from the south-east which puts the Shady Hills estate at risk,” he said on Wednesday morning.
