Labor leader Anthony Albanese says reversing the $83.7 million of cuts over three years to the national broadcaster's budget would save regional jobs, protect critical emergency broadcasting and support local news and content. 9News

says reversing the $83.7 million of cuts over three years to the national broadcaster's budget would save regional jobs, protect critical emergency broadcasting and support local news and content.

The government has repeatedly denied there are any cuts, and has previously said the ABC gets $1 billion a year in public money. "ABC emergency coverage saved lives during the summer bushfires and staff came off leave to ensure Australians were kept informed," Mr Albanese said.

Why does the ABC cut regional services first? That is proof they are a disgrace. auspol TheirABC

That b a vote winner

It should be paid out of ALP funds.

Would rather spend more money on left wing media than protecting Australians from murderers, rapists and peodophiles.

A freeze is not a cut 🤪

If you are that worried about regional jobs tell your mate chairman Dan to rethink his position on Victoria’s native timber industry. Whichyour ag minister supports.

Good.

Defund this bias cesspool the public wants its taxpayers money back .

$83 million would save jobs? Genius.

i’m surprised he didn’t say they’ll double the cuts. ABC is needed in regional australia more than the inner cities. anyone that thinks abc will change anything for emergency broadcasting is a fool, it’s called a scare

A bit late with this one. Anybody that cares has read the reports last week and knows what happening. Chris is still jealous of the ABC and all their supporters. While he's stuck on Sky ranting away on stuff he thinks people care about. As opposed to , which preaches to a minority and is always removed from reality? 🤷‍♂️
